Bengkoknya Wanita

“Leceh betullah orang perempuan ni. Tegur sikit dah merajuk. Kena pujuk, nasihat lembut-lembut, cakap baik-baik… hai leceh betul. Tetapi kalau dibiarkan menjadi-jadi pulak! Kita punya kerja pun dia nak langgar. Buat kerja ikut semangat, tak pandang kiri kanan lagi.”
“Eh, apa yang kau ngomelkan ni Fuad? Siapa yang buat hal kali ni?”
“Staff aku si Lina tu lah. Baru tegur sikit, dah monyok. Hari ni dah tak datang kerja. Susahlah macam ni. Kerja pejabat akan terganggu.”
“Entah-entah dia ada hal lain. Engkau belum siasat dah jump to conclusion.”
“Alaah… orang perempuan memang macam tu. Kan Nabi pun kata yang orang perempuan tu ibarat tulang rusuk yang bengkok*? Sebab dia bengkoklah orang perempuan suka buat perangai. Kita nak luruskan nanti patah pulak. Kalau dibiarkan terus, makin bengkoklah. Hai susah, susah.”
“Jangan cakap macam tu, Fuad. Maksud Hadis tu bukan begitu.”
“Eh, kan Hadis itu sudah lumrah diperkatakan? Apa yang tak kena pulak, Naim?”
“Maksud aku begini.
“Tapi, memang orang perempuan kuat merajuk. Jenuh kita nak layan dia.”
Asyik nak bela orang perempuan aje.”
“Aku bukannya nak bela siapa-siapa.
“Apa maksud sebenar Hadis tu?”
“Jadi peranan mereka sebenarnya penting.
(Hadis riwayat al-Bukhari no: 4890)

Doktor, Islam dan Logik : Sebuah Perbandingan Klasik Dan Moden

1. Cara makan, kenapa kita gunakan tangan? Mengikut cara Rasulullah
Mengapa menghisap garam? Kenapa garam?
Mengapa ia empat persegi, ia melambangkan
perpaduan ummah yang bergerak maju! bersama, equality and unity, tidak
seperti bentuk pyramid, dimana ia diumpamakan, seperti hanya seorang
pemenang yg berada diatas setelah ia memijak-mijak yang lain. Dan antara
lagi sebab mengapa 4 persegi melambangkan 4 imam besar, Maliki, Hambali, Hanafi dan Syafi’i, melambangkan kebenaran keempat-empat Imam tersebut.

Sekian buat renungan bersama, Fi amanillah Jazakallah Khairan Kathiran.

Cardiovascular Disease, General

Description:
There is a very distinct difference among the blood types with regard to their incidence of heart disease. Type O and Type B are less likely to generate heart disease as a result of high cholesterol. Their pathway is carbohydrate intolerance. Type A and Type AB follow a more conventional path, through high cholesterol. Each of these pathways lead to a very different lifestyle plan and diet in order to stay heart healthy.

Type A and Type AB: The Blood Type-Cholesterol Factor

A number of studies show that Type As and Type ABs are more likely to be at risk of heart disease and death by virtue of elevated cholesterol:

The relationship between blood type and total serum cholesterol level was examined in a Japanese population to determine whether elevated cholesterol levels are associated with Type A, as has been demonstrated in many Western European populations. The results showed that cholesterol levels were very significantly elevated in the Type A group compared to other blood types.

A study examining a total of 380 marker/risk factor combinations found associations between Type A and both total serum cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, while a negative association was found between Type B and total serum cholesterol.

A Hungarian study measured the cholesterol of 653 patients who underwent coronary angiography between 1980 and 1985 at the Hungarian Institute of Cardiology. The results showed that Type A was more frequent and Type O was less frequent than normally seen in the Hungarian population, and that there were differences between the blood types as to the areas of the vessels where the narrowing of the coronary arteries had occurred.

Several forms of elevated lipoproteins are inherited. One of the more common forms of hyperlipoproteinemia is called Type IIB, and it is characterized by increased LDL and VLDL (really bad cholesterol). Type IIB hyperlipoproteinemia results in premature hardening of the arteries, obstruction of the carotid artery (the artery which supplies blood to the head and brain), peripheral artery disease, heart attack, and stroke. Since all of these disorders show higher rates of occurrence in Type As, it is not surprising that studies have found a significant connection between hyperlipoproteinaemia IIb and Type A in both newborns and in patients who have suffered heart attacks.

Type O and Type B: The Blood Type-Carbohydrate Intolerance Factor

For Type Os and Type Bs, the leading risk factor for heart disease is not so much the fat in the food as the fat on the person. In other words, the elevated risk factor is due to carbohydrate intolerance. When Type Os and Type Bs adopt low-fat diets rich in metabolically inactivating lectins, they gain weight. This particular kind of weight gain is a major risk factor for heart disease.

For many years, heart experts have been saying that high triglycerides are not an independent risk for heart disease
only in combination with other factors. However, increasing evidence is pointing to elevated triglycerides as a risk factor on their own, and this partially explains the anomaly of the Type O and Type B pathway to heart disease. The link between obesity, triglycerides, and bad lipoproteins has been evidenced in Type Os. In a French study of blood donors, serum triglycerides and lipoproteins were shown to correlate with both obesity and Blood Type O in a study screening for cardio-or cerebro-vascular disease. There is also a connection between non-secretors and high triglyceride levels, as well as insulin resistance.

Nature has provided Type O and Type B with an additional secret weapon to allow them to benefit from those higher protein levels. That weapon is intestinal alkaline phosphatase, an enzyme manufactured in the small intestine, which has the primary function of splitting dietary cholesterol and fats. Numerous studies since the mid-1960s have shown that Type O and Type B have higher levels of this enzyme--especially Type O and Type B secretors. Conversely, Type A and Type AB have lower levels of this enzyme. Recent studies suggest that it is the inability to break down dietary fat which in part predisposed Type A and Type AB to higher cholesterol and more heart attacks; while the opposite is true for Type O and Type B, who are aided in the breakdown of dietary fat by high amounts of intestinal alkaline phosphatase.

Intestinal alkaline phosphatase activity rises following the ingestion of a fat-containing meal, especially if the triglycerides in the meal are long-chain fatty acids. In a study of volunteers given different test meals, the after-meal rise in serum intestinal alkaline phosphatase activity was significantly greater following the long-chain fatty acid meal than following the medium-chain fatty acid meal, and significantly higher in Type O and Type B over Type A and Type AB. Paradoxically, it appears that intestinal alkaline phosphatase gives Type O and Type B metabolic advantages when they eat high protein meals. Studies show that the consumption of protein further increases the levels of alkaline phosphatase in the intestines of Type Os and Type Bs. Without protein in their diets, Type Os and Type Bs do not gain the benefits of the specialized fat busting enzymes in their intestines. This explains why these blood types can lower their cholesterol by adopting high protein diets.

Recently, an intriguing study helped to cast some light on why Type As and Type ABs have such low levels of alkaline phosphatase activity. In an article entitled 'Intestinal alkaline phosphatase and the ABO blood group system--a new aspect' researchers presented evidence that the Blood Type A antigen may itself inactivate alkaline phosphatase. It may be the case that the lower levels of this enzyme, and the subsequent inability to break down dietary fats, may not be genetically linked to blood type. Instead, this reaction is to the physical expression of the A antigen. The authors found that the red cells of Type A and Type AB bind almost all intestinal alkaline phosphatase, while the red cells of Type O and Type B did so to a much lesser degree.

What Makes a 'Type A' an Individual?

What makes Me Me and You You?

This is the question that is at the heart of the genetic puzzle. It is also central to our exploration of blood types. The key is genetic heritage - the story line of your life. Even though you are living in the 21st century, you share a common bond with your ancestors. The genetic information that resulted in their particular characteristics has been passed on to you.

People who are A blood type have a different set of characteristics than people who are Type O - they are susceptible to different diseases, they should eat different foods and exercise in a completely different manner. Some believe that personality is influenced by blood type! Dr. D'Adamo, author of the best selling books Eat Right for Your Type and Live Right for Your Type, among others, gives us a blueprint for living in his books. Read on to learn more about the Type A individual.

Type A History

The Type A emerges into the 21st century with many more complex challenges than their ancestors could have imagined. The key factor in the development of Type A can be traced to the struggle for survival long ago, when there was a rapidly dwindling supply of hunting game stock. Having exhausted the great game herds of Africa, humans pushed farther out from their ancestral home into Europe and Asia. The cultivation of grains and livestock changed everything. For the first time, people were able to forego the hand to mouth lifestyle of the hunter/gatherer and establish stable communities. Over time the adaptations that produced Blood Type A were based on the need to fully utilize nutrients from carbohydrate sources. These biological adaptations can still be observed today in Type A's digestive structure. Low levels of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and high intestinal disaccharide digestive enzyme levels permit the more efficient digestion of carbohydrates. According to Dr. D'Adamo, these are also the very factors, along with low levels of intestinal alkaline phosphatase, that make it difficult for Type As to digest and metabolize animal protein and fat.

What Makes Type A Unique

Many neurochemical factors in the Type A genetic disposition favor a structured, rhythmic, harmonious life, surrounded by a positive, supportive community. The harried pace and increased sense of isolation experienced by so many in today's society often make these needs difficult to achieve. Type A best exemplifies the powerful interconnections between mind and body. This was vital to the shift away from hunting and procurement to building and growing. However, Type A's more internalized relationship to stress, which served your ancestors well, can be a challenge for the modern Type A. The Blood Type Diet's proactive mix of lifestyle strategies, hormonal equalizers, gentle exercise and specialized dietary guidelines will maximize your overall health; decrease your natural risk factors for cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The result: high performance, mental clarity, greater vitality and increased longevity.

Type A Diet

"When we discuss 'diet,' we are not talking necessarily about a weight loss plan, that's a side benefit to following this plan. We are actually discussing diet in the more traditional sense, meaning a way to eat," explains, Dr. D'Adamo. Type As flourish on a vegetarian diet - if you are accustomed to eating meat, you will lose weight and have more energy once you eliminate the toxic foods from your diet. Many people find it difficult to move away from the typical meat and potato fare to soy proteins, grains and vegetables. But it is particularly important for sensitive Type As to eat their foods in as natural a state as possible: pure, fresh and organic. "I can't emphasize enough how this critical dietary adjustment can be to the sensitive immune system of Type A. With this diet you can supercharge your immune system and potentially short circuit the development of life threatening diseases."

Handling Stress

In this busy, ever changing world, it's almost impossible to avoid every day stress. Type As have a naturally high level of the stress hormone cortisol and produce more in response to stressful situations. Cortisol is released in 24-hour patterns, typically in the early morning between six and eight A.M. with a gradual decrease during the day. It helps to cue the body's other cyclical rhythms. Due to the naturally elevated cortisol in type As, additional stress often manifests in several ways; disrupted sleep patterns, daytime brain fog, increased blood viscosity (thickening), and promotes muscle loss and fat gain. In extreme cases in Type As, stress can manifest in more serious ways, causing obsessive-compulsive disorder, insulin resistance and hypothyroidism. To help balance cortisol levels, Dr. D'Adamo recommends that you limit sugar, caffeine and alcohol. Don't skip meals, especially breakfast; eating smaller, more frequent meals will also help to stabilize blood sugar levels. He also points out that the following factors are known to increase cortisol levels and increase mental exhaustion for Type As - be aware and limit your exposure when possible:
  • Crowds of people
  • Loud noise
  • Negative emotions
  • Smoking
  • Strong smells or perfumes
  • Too much sugar and starch
  • Overwork
  • Violent TV and movies
  • Lack of sleep
  • Extreme weather conditions (hot or cold)

Calming Exercise - The Critical Component for Health and Well Being

Heightened cortisol levels make it harder for Type As to recover from stress. Research has demonstrated that overall cortisol levels can be lowered through a regular program of exercises that provide focus and calming effects. Make these activities a regular - and life saving - part of your lifestyle. Dr. D'Adamo recommends, Hatha Yoga, Tai Chi and Meditation and Deep Breathing Exercises. Meditation has been studied for its effects on stress hormones. It was found that after meditation, serum cortisol levels were significantly reduced. Writes Dr. D'Adamo, "While it's fine for Type As to participate in more intense physical activity when healthy and in good condition, be aware that these forms of exercise do not act as safety valves for stress in your blood type. I have seen Type As excel at weight lifting and aerobic activities, but you have to be careful about not overtraining, as that will actually raise cortisol levels."

The Personality Connection

Blood Type is a marker of individuality - and perhaps of personality as well. In Japan, it has long been believed that Blood Type is an indicator of personality - in fact, you are likely to be asked your blood type in a job interview or while out on a date with a potential mate! In a study conducted by Dr. D'Adamo in 1999, he found some interesting connections between blood type and personality. Type As most often described themselves in ways related to the following characteristics: sensitive to the needs of others, good listeners, detail oriented, analytical, creative and inventive.

Live Right!

In addition to exercise, stress management and eating the right foods, here are some key lifestyle strategies for Type A individuals.
  • Cultivate creativity and expression in your life
  • Establish a consistent daily schedule
  • Go to bed no later than 11:00 PM and sleep for eight hours or more. Don't linger in bed, as soon as you get up, get going!
  • Take at least two breaks of twenty minutes each during the work day. Stretch, take a walk, do deep breathing exercises or meditate.
  • Don't skip meals
  • Eat more protein at the start of the day, less at the end
  • Don't eat when you are anxious
  • Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
  • Engage in thirty to forty five minutes of calming exercise at least three times a week.
  • Plan regular screening for heart disease and cancer prevention.
Always chew food thoroughly to enhance digestion. Low stomach acid makes digestion more difficult.
